Repair:
- When clips are cracked or broken
- If the vanity mirror is cracked
- If the mirror light is blown
Replace:
- If the entire mechanism is broken
- If the sun visor board is badly damaged
- If the visor won’t stay in the up position

Most Mazda 3 sun visors are of a similar design. They are mounted just above the front windscreen and can be unclipped to fold down or to the side. Some versions are fitted with vanity mirrors and integrated lights. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to replace the driver side sun visor on a 2013 Mazda 3:
Tools Required:
- Phillips (star) screwdriver
- Plastic pry tool to remove caps or sun visor clip (optional)
Replacement Steps:
- Remove the securing screw at the top left of the sun visor
- Pop the right side of the Mazda 3 sun visor clip out of its mounting
- Pull the left side of the sun visor down and towards you. It should pop out of the roof lining. If your vehicle is fitted with a bulb in the visor, be sure to disconnect the electrical connector before removing the visor completely.
- Install the replacement sun visor by following steps 1-3 in reverse order.
Please Note:
- If you are only replacing the mirror lamp, there is no need to remove the entire sun visor. Just pop the blown bulb out and press the new one into place.
- If you are repairing/replacing the passenger side visor, then the instructions above will be mirrored. So, the securing screw will be on the right and the sun visor clip will be on the left.
- If the sun visor clip/holder is broken, you also do not need to remove the complete visor. Just swivel the visor out of the way and remove the clip by pressing it in with the pry tools from both sides. Then press the new clip in carefully.
